Dear Futurists,
Thank you for joining this wiki and giving us your input on practical ways of improving global futures studies education.

John is president of the Acceleration Studies Foundation (ASF), a nonprofit engaged in outreach, education, research, and advocacy regarding technologies of accelerating change. In 2006-7, ASF completed the Metaverse Roadmap, a yearlong public foresight study on the 3D web and digital future. In 2007 John developed and taught a required undergraduate course in Foresight Development (futures studies plus personal futures work), available in an open access, CC-licensed wiki at http://foresightdevelopment.wetpaint.com. In 2008, ASF has launched the Global Futures Network, a modest initiative to help futurists of all types join the planet’s leading social networks, and the Futures Studies Development Network, a work and discussion group for improving global futures studies education.

John’s academic interests are evolutionary and developmental systems theory, futures studies and education, and processes of accelerating change. He is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists. He has a BS in Business from UC Berkeley, an MS in Futures Studies from U. Houston, and six years of postgrad coursework in biological, medical, cognitive, computer and physical science at UCLA, UC Berkeley and UC San Diego.
